ANGRY PARENTS ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD

We've all experienced it, attending a football game on Saturday morning to see our children play only to find that a parent or bystander who has attended the game, has acted in a manner, which is completely inappropriate. This may involve profane language, indecent behaviour or in some cases physical violence.

Most parents agree that children should not be exposed to this kind of violence or behaviour particularly not when they are there to have fun playing a sport that they love.

Depending on the ground and the Association where the game occurs most incorporated associations have model rules, which outline the conduct of their members and indeed people that attend their field. In certain circumstances there may be grounds upon which a member or associate of the club can be removed or in fact have their membership revoked.

Apart from this, where physical violence is involved, this behaviour may breach the criminal code and the Police may need to be involved.

Often times, it is a situation where the clubs need to be informed of the behaviour.
