ADVANCED HEALTH DIRECTIVES -- PROTECTING YOUR FAMILY

It is a sad reality, but as certain family members get older, it is imperative that all legal documentation including Wills, Powers of Attorney and other legal documentation are in place to ensure that all issues are covered should the worst occur.

Where illness has become more serious, a document called an Advanced Health Directive may be drafted by the loved one to provide direction to the staff and Doctors of any treatment or otherwise that a person may receive should their condition deteriorate.

A benefit of having this document in place is that it removes the difficult decision faced by most family members with respect to what care should be taken to further a loved ones health.

The Advanced Health Directive is a simple document which requires the client to see both a treating Doctor and a Solicitor to outline and explain the effect of this document and to be able move forward.

This document provides peace of mind for those who during this difficult time often do not wish to face the decision of how much treatment should a loved one receive when a condition tends to deteriorate.

If you would like any further information in relation to this, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly staff at Hatzis Lawyers who will provide some information on what things you need to consider and whether or not an Advanced Health Directive is able to assist you.
